Dysphagia
Terms
Dysphagia = Difficulty swallowing
Odynophagia = Pain with swallowing
Globus = non-painful sensation of a lump, tightness, foreign body or food in the throat
Acute dysphagia
Assess object swallowed - food or foreign body
If unable to swallow swallow = medical emergency
Otherwise don’t do XRAY - refer ED
